I love this thread, and I'm always overjoyed to see an update posted while at work. I figured that before I give EVE a break, I'd post the results of an interesting fight I got into awhile back.
First off, I don't claim to be a super-amazing PVPer, but I do love a good fight whenever I can get them. When can-flipping, the flipper really is at a disadvantage. The targets know what ship they are in, and if they do a quick google or battleclinic search, they know how good the flipper is and what his ship is most probably fit like. In addition, they are able to bring many corpies into the fight, making for some pretty raunchy brawls. I love this. Now, all of you guys know this already, but I felt the need to share why I flip-self-justification and all that.
Details are a bit fuzzy as it was months ago, but I'll do my best:
Stumbled into a belt with several miners duking it out with some rocks. Marked the corp to do a quick check of local, and then burned towards the only can out there (Once I landed two of the cans there were immediately pulled). Nice flip on the two noobships that were mining into the same can. So in warps the rupture, which was promptly put down by my favorite little ship in the game, the Harpy:

A few minutes go by, and two of the guys warp off. I'm hoping things get a little more nasty, but being a navitas, it was like shooting a crippled (insert cute animal here):

I'm checking d-scan like a madman to see what is heading my way. Sure enough, a drake and cane land at zero to the mining group's previous location and start firing at my baby. No one lands point, and both ships start burning away. I know I have time, so I start burning to tackle the cane and get under the guns:

He goes down, and I burn to the drake. I'm not too far off, so I OH the mids, nab a tackle, turn off the OH and start laying into him with the void:

All of a sudden, a noobship goes red:

Turns out, he was trying to pick up the ore I stole while I was fighting. Both noobships do it again and again. It's important to note that throughout the fight, these two pilots kept coming back in over and over again to grab the ore out of the can that I stole, all while their friends were fighting for them:

Things get interesting here after the cane and drake go down. Local spike of corpies gets me even more excited. I felt like a cheap hooker as I took it all with a smile on my face:

After all that nonsense, I have a buddy waiting to try and ***** in on the hilarity. He equips his hurricane with one shield maintenance bot, and as the last guy comes back to engage me in a brutix, he drops in and uses the drone on me. By this time, I had the brutix tackled, drones dead, and he is landing zero hits. So when my buddy's ... |
